Distillery Information

The inspiration for our brand, a granddaughter of Luis Quinteros, an original settler of Los Angeles, in 1838 Maria Rita Valdez was granted 4,539 acres of land that became her home and the cattle ranch named Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas, which translates to Ranch of the Gathering Waters. In the 20th Century, Rancho Rodeo de las Aguas was developed into what is now known as Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. The Shared Passion of Our Founders Rodeo de las Aguas founders Jefrey Levy and Tony Garcia became friends as members of Los Angeles and New York based wine tasting groups dedicated to the worlds finest wines. Over two decades, Jef and Tony blind-tasted and analyzed thousands of wines, refining their skills to identify the delicate nuances and unique characteristics of individual wines. They were introduced to the French term terroir or a sense of place the factors, including soil, climate, and sunlight, that give wine grapes their distinctive character. Each wine region, and each vineyard, features a variety of different soils and landscapes. Each vineyard holds a unique terroir that may vary significantly with other vineyards nearby, the essence of what provides wines with their characteristic aromas and flavors.
