Producer Information
J de Villebois and its sister label Villebois are two brands owned and run by Dutch businessman Joost van der Does de Willebois and his wife Miguela. The pan-Loire company specialises in Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre, Pouilly-Fum and Touraine in the Loire Valley. In 2015, Villebois/de Villebois acquired Sancerre-based Fournier Pere & Fils and as such, the company operates two wineries: Fourier in Sancerre and the original site in the wider Touraine, east of Tours. Vineyard holdings cover 275 hectares (680 acres). The companys two Villebois labels broadly cover different levels of wines with “Villebois” bearing the wider appellations such as Menetou-Salon, Sancerre, Pouilly-Fum, IGP Val de Loire and even produces varietal Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir under the Vin de France title, as well as a sparkling Brut Crmant de Loire. The “de Villebois” range is more vineyard-specific with single-vineyard offerings from the Sancerre and Pouilly-Fum holdings. It also contains Touraine and Vin de France wines.
