An exceptionally fine and very persistent bead weaves its way through a strawberry pink coloured base after a well formed frothy white mousse dissipates. Filling the nostrils are enticing strawberry and raspberry aromatics which are complexed by some baked bread, yeast lees and light toast notes. Delightfully sculptured by refreshing acidity, the palate has delicious raspberry and strawberry fruits racing across it with yeast lees, baked bread and chalky tones lending further interest. Finishes nervy, crisp and long.

        • Vinous: Rich yet focused, with superb depth, Laherte’s Extra Brut Ros is a magical Champagne in every way. Orange peel, sweet red berry fruit, cranberry, mint and chalk are some of the many aromas and flavors that develop as this breathtaking Champagne shows off its pedigree.

              Producer Information

Laherte Frres is a sought-after Champagne grower based in Chavot-Courcourt, just to the south of Epernay in an area between the Cte des Blancs and the Valle de la Marne. Its wine line-up features all seven different grape varieties grown in Champagne. Pinot Meunier plays a strong role here. The estate now comprises 11 hectares (27 acres) of vines in different parts of the Champagne region. Over half of this can be found in the village of Chavot, and 80 percent within five minutes’ drive. In all there are 75 different parcels.Grapes are pressed in two 4000 kilogram Coquard presses. Nowadays 80 percent of the estate’s base wines are fermented and matured in oak vessels. There are about 350 barrels plus six larger casks and one truncated conical tank. This allows the estate to vinify fruit from the different plots separately.
