Tio Rey is one of Mexico’s most renowned mezcalero masters and for this special expression, he creates a different blend of agaves each time. After surveying and harvesting only the agaves at peak maturity, the plants are traditionally ground and distilled in tiny hand made clay and bamboo pot stills allowing Tio Rey to have full control over the quality of the spirit.

Vago Ensamble Tio Rey Mezcal Tasting Notes

Nose: Notes of green melon, pomegranate, geranium, and wet earth.

Palate: The palate is nectar-like with underlying flavors of hay, rock, and honey.

Finish: Long, warming finish.

Distillery Information

Vago Mezcals were born when a man, Judah Emanuel Kuper, decided to totally change his life after a trip to Oaxaca. During a local party, he drank a liquid with a smoky and at the same time sweet taste that conquered him to the point of deciding to stay and open a bar on the beach.
